I love the Meals on Wheels program, in fact my family has used this service in the past and it is a great service to help families in need. Help this cause out if you can…
BOISE, Idaho (AP) - An official with a group that two months ago took over Meals on Wheels to bring food to seniors in Ada County says the transition has so far been a smooth one.
Grant Jones, spokesman for the Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Hospital, says 800 meals a day get served to seniors in the highly populated region.
He says the annual cost of the program is $1 million, with money coming from the state and federal government, as well as donations.
The Central District Health Department earlier this year quit operating the program because it didn’t have enough money to cover expenses.
